Instructions
Soak the dal in water for at least 2 hours.
Estimated time: 120 minutes
Boil the dal in a pot or pressure cooker with salt and water until 80% cooked.
Estimated time: 45 minutes
Prepare the vegetables by chopping them into uniform sizes.

Boil the gathi kochu for 6 minutes and drain the water.
Estimated time: 10 minutes
Add the harder vegetables to the dal and cook for 10 minutes.

Add the boiled gathi kochu and thor to the dal and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the remaining vegetables and cook until tender.

Stir in green chilies, coconut, sugar, and turmeric.

Heat mustard oil in a separate pan and temper with spices.
